Life Member - Rick Howard

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Rick Howard of Warringah has been awarded life membership of the Port Jackson Veterans Cricket Club. Rick is the inaugural life member of our club which is a wonderful achievement.

Rick has been an active member of our club, representing Port Jackson on regularly across the over 50s and over 55s, however it was his actions during the Over 55s State Tournament in January 2024 which deserve such recognition.

During game 1 of the tournament, our PJ Red skipper Mick Hall had what was later confirmed to be a very serious heart incident. Fortunately Rick and several of the other PJ Red teammates were on hand to assist Mick, but it was Rick's expertise and composure that came to the fore. Without Rick, the story for Mick and all of us could have been very different.

Congratulations Rick on behalf of the Port Jackson committee and sincere thanks from everyone across the Port Jackson Veterans Cricket Club. You're an inspiration to us in Port Jackson and indeed across Veterans Cricket NSW.
