2024 Over 70s State Championships - Orange

This year's Over 70 State Champioships were held in Orange from 31st October to 4th November with Port Jackson Red competing for the Harry Solomons Cup. Paul Georgiadis reports...

Weather and playing conditions near pefect. Very fast outfield and a batting paradise. In the first match PJ won the toss and batted first 4/187 off 40 overs. Qurindi/New England were 2/190 off 30.2 overs. In our 2nd match a similar story... PJ batted first after winning the toss and ended up on 9/137 off 40 overs with the no 10 batsman on 18 not out as the top scorer. Hunter Taverners scored 2/140 off 36.3 overs. In our 3rd match Mid North Coast won the toss and batted first and at the end of 40 overs were 7/204. At the end of their 40 overs PJ were 9/124. Good fun and camaderie amongst the squad but the opposition teams batted bowled and fielded better than us.
